Kids playing free youth tennis with CourtBloom in Manchester, New Hampshire

Volunteer with CourtBloom in Manchester, NH

Be the reason a kid can't wait to come back.

Free tennis, something good to eat, and a grown-up who believes in them. That's what kids get at CourtBloom in Manchester. We need more of those grown-ups.

Takes about a minute. No tennis experience needed.

It's never really about tennis.

  • A five-year-old too nervous to step on the court, until his big brother showed him how.
  • A four-year-old who now asks to come back every single weekend.
  • A bagel after every session, with a note of encouragement written on the bag.

Real moments from CourtBloom sessions in Franklin, as reported by the Concord Monitor.

“Funding comes and goes. The world does what it does. We'll still be here. That's the whole point.”
Grant Workman, Executive Director
Kids and families sharing food after a CourtBloom session
“Nobody earns a plate and nobody asks for one. We just set the table and everybody eats.”
Sylvie

Food is just part of the day, the way it is for any team. Local restaurant partners help make it happen, and volunteers make sure every kid and family feels welcome at the table.

Questions

What does volunteering in Manchester look like?

Most on-court help happens during after-school programming on weekday afternoons. Events, fundraising, and professional roles are more flexible.

I have a professional skill. Can I help remotely?

Often, yes. Admin and professional-skills volunteers can usually help from anywhere in the state. Tell us what you do on the form.

Do I need to know how to play tennis?

No. Most roles have nothing to do with tennis. On court, you'll be helping CourtBloom coaches, who lead every session.

How much time does it take?

Whatever fits your life. Some people help at a single event, others come regularly. We'll find something that works for you.

What screening is involved?

Volunteers who work directly with kids complete CourtBloom screening, training, and youth-safety onboarding before their first session.

Can this count for school hours, an internship, or a practicum?

Yes. Open “Add details” on the form and tell us what you need. Students ages 13–17 can also join our Youth Leaders program.
